Structure of the secondary phase and its effects on hydrogen-storage properties in a Ti Zr V Ni alloy
The phase structures and hydrogen storage properties of a Ti Zr V Ni alloy are studied. It is found that this alloy consists of a 0.7 0.2 0.1 matrix and a secondary phase. The matrix is a B2-type compound with bcc structure and the secondary phase is a C14-type Laves phase with hexagonal structure. This alloy electrode has a larger charge–discharge capacity than stoichiometric TiNi electrodes b...
متن کاملHydrogen Isotope Effects on Absorption Properties of Ti–Cr–V Alloys*
Ti–Cr–V alloys are known to absorb protium (hydrogen atom) up to H/M = 2, while Cr-rich alloys absorb up to H/M = 1 because of the formation of mono-protides (mono-hydrides). However, few hydrogen isotope effects of the Ti–Cr–V alloys have been reported. This paper aims to clarify the hydrogen isotope effects on the absorption properties of the Ti–Cr–V alloys in a composition range near the bou...
متن کاملMicrostructural evolution of body-centered cubic structure related Ti–Zr–Ni phases in non-stoichiometric Zr-based Zr–Ti–Mn–V–Ni hydride electrode alloys
Non-stoichiometric Zr-based alloys were prepared, and the corresponding electrochemical properties were characterized as hydride electrode alloys. The microstructure and chemical composition of non-stoichiometric Zr–Ti–Mn–V–Ni hydride electrode alloys were systematically investigated by x-ray Rietveld refinement, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy under T...
متن کاملHydrogen diffusion in Zr-Pd amorphous alloys
Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation measurements of the dipolar relaxation rate due to hydrogen diffusion in Zr-Pd amorphous alloy~ have been conducted and the results interpreted in terms of the random alloy model. It is found that even though the measured activation
متن کاملThe Effect of Hydrogen Content on Ballistic Transport Behaviors in the Ni-Nb-Zr-H Glassy Alloys
The electronic transport behaviors of (Ni(0.39)Nb(0.25)Zr(0.35))(100-) (x)H(x) (0 ≤ x < 23.5) glassy alloys with subnanostructural icosahedral Zr(5)Nb(5)Ni(3) clusters have been studied as a function of hydrogen content. These alloys show semiconducting, electric current-induced voltage (Coulomb) oscillation and ballistic transport behaviors. Coulomb oscillation and ballistic transport occur at...
